June 6, 2022 Meeting of the

Guemes Island Planning Advisory Committee

Hal Rooks opened the meeting at 6:35. Present were board members Michael Brown,Kathy Malley, Steve Orsini, Patty Rose, and Allen Bush. Jep Burdock was absent.  Also present was Gabe Murphy.

Draft Agenda was approved.

Draft minutes of the May meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s report – Checking Account $4,838.85.  Roz Glasser Bequest Fund is $9,162.10.

Public Comment – None

Update/New Business - Hal Rooks gave the board an update on discussions with Kye Loring, the attorney the board hired to advise GIPAC.  The county has not docketed GIPAC’s well monitoring code amendment and there was a discussion about board options moving forward.  Steve Orsini agreed to flesh out arguments for Kyle Loring.

The USGS Aquifer Recharge Study commences in September, and Allen Bush agreed to be the point person with the USGS.  He will ask them about including chlorides in their report.

Patty Rose gave an update on the GICCA Father’s Day Ice Cream Social fundraiser.  Allen, Patty and Michael will be manning a table at the event highlighting the board’s work and its mission.  The fundraiser will benefit GIPAC this year.

The July 4 meeting will be changed to July 11^th due to it falling on a national holiday.
